Zeleke Where do you work (city and country): Sacramento, California, USA Degree(s): Bachelors degree in Anthropology from Friends New World College Describe your work/research:I have worked for The Nature Conservancy for 15 years and currently manage a team of 40 staff working in partnership with rural communities, agriculture, cities, state and federal agencies. The team plans and implements conservation on three important river systems, the San Francisco Bay-Delta, grasslands, blue oak woodlands and Sierra Nevada forests. Key biodiversity targets include anadromous fish, migratory birds, vernal pool grasslands and forests, which are conserved through conservation easements, fee acquisitions, compatible farming, riparian restoration, managing river flows and removing fish passage barriers.
